Yesterday my little one said, "Mommy, where's nowhere?" I was driving at the time and abruptly answered, "Nowhere is nowhere. It's no place anywhere." Of course she persisted, "But Mommy, nowhere is somewhere, so where is it"? This went on for the entire trip...
I was beginning to feel as if I were stuck in some Abbot and Costello flick.

ReplyDeleteFunny. Unfortunately, the video wouldn't come up for me, but if it's the one about who's on first? No, who's on second. I've seen it a million times when I was a kid. A classic.
Happy trails.
Hey Swu! Yep that's the one. Hmmm, it works for me. Crazy computers.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
Hi! This takes me back to when I'd be driving for hours on end with the kids in the back. They'd forever ask, "Are we there yet?". The most hated saying in any parents book!
ReplyDeleteNowhere is a place we'd like to go at times to avoid that question.
Take Care,
Peter
Me again! I could watch that clip over and over again. Why? A:It makes me laugh and feel good! Thank You!
ReplyDeleteTake Care,
Peter
Ah, the metaphysical existentialism of children...
ReplyDeleteOh, gosh, I remember those days!! Two lively and inquisitive boys, always asking metaphysical questions to which there were no easy answers...
ReplyDeleteThese days, they're more likely to be found patiently explaining things to me, while I sit there with my eyes glazing, saying 'can you explain that bit again?'
Oh, and Peter - I do this now, when my boys drive me anywhere. Their answer is usually 'yes' on the basis that I didn't specify exactly where, and we are always somewhere. It cracks us all up. LOL!
Children are always fun...inqusitive and can make you think clever.
ReplyDeleteBTW great blog! will stop by often to have a peek!
Hugs!

That video was so funny:)) And your kid asking this question too:) Well, kids really don't think the way we do and they always want a specific answer to their questions. Next time you can say something like .."Antarctica" :D
ReplyDeleteHi Peter!
ReplyDeleteEndless trips, aren't they great? Are we there yet? Was my favorite question to ask my dad!!!
I love watching old movies. Abbot and Costello were my grandparents and dad's favorite! I could watch the clip over and over again also.
Hello Conda!
ReplyDeleteYou just gotta love kids!
Another favorite question of theirs, Why? Always in response to something I tell them they cannot do...
Hi Jay!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting! True, there is never an easy answer. Except for, perhaps, Because!
Hey Renae!
ReplyDeleteI like your blog too! Thanks for visiting!
Hello Poli!
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming by! I do love the clip. Love circular questions too. I'll try that answer next time to see what I get in response. Kids are grand!
