How to Make Things Happen: Visualize

I've been creating change in my life and making things happen. I've always followed simple rules, beliefs. One is you can make things happen if you see it as a fact already, visualization. How they say, if you see it, you can be it.

I'll give you an example. The past year my husband has been itching to get a new motorcycle. All his buddies at work have bikes and ride together on the weekends. They tell stories of their adventures and really make owning a bike like nothing else. You know, Live for the Ride.

Last year the group went to Sturgis. This year they're going to Daytona Bike Week and Pike's Peak. So my husband has been moping about.

We really couldn't afford to make a purchase like this. I also have some trepidation about bikes. But I want him to be happy. So I told him, just start looking. So he did. The last year he's been scouring the cycle magazines, the Internet, and various bike shops.

He found a bike he really wanted, a Honda Shadow Sabre. They will discontinue the model, I think 2008 is the last, according to the dealer we spoke to. So he really gained interest in it. I guess it has something to do with how the bike runs and looks. Possibly it's because of the nostalgia of it. Who knows?

Anyhow you can see it here.

Then he decided he really wanted the exact model with the flames and all. Well, it does look cool. By this time, about 6 months ago, I'm thinking, isn't it a little early for a mid-life crisis? And, shouldn't you be wanting something like a Corvette?

His obsession with getting this bike became more intense when a local bike sale shop got one in on their show room floor. The bike is a 2007 model with only 200 miles on it, just like new.

He started visiting the bike on a regular basis. I said, if you really want this bike you should make it happen, create change in your life to make owning the bike a reality. Visualize yourself getting the money, going to the shop, and buying the bike. Then see yourself riding it.

He did. Now the bike is sitting in our garage. I've been warned by some of the other wives of this man group, you better get used to your husband being gone all the time. Personally, I don't see that happening, he put a sissy bar on it for me.

So, you can make things happen if you visualize.

  1. After falling off a motorcycle doing 55mph (I was stupid, 21 and drunk at the time) and surviving with nothing more than major scrapes and bruises, I decided that someone gave me one warning. Haven't been on one since.

My midlife crisis is someday owning a big Fresian. You can't feed an apple to motorcycle. :)

  2. My only experience with motorcycles is at the back of a Harley 1000cc (BIG touring bike). It was a blast. So much fun. And we traveled in groups, less risk. With helmets, less risk.

However I might not have such fond memories if I'd been like J.L. and fallen off...

That's a mighty fine looking motorcycle. Your hubby will certainly be a proud biker.

I also believe in the power of inner vision. If you want something, you first have to form a vision in your mind of exactly what it is. Then make it happen. When I first met my Queen I thought of nothing else. I wanted her so bad I thought I was going to die. I actually saw her and I together. Then one day I sat down and decided how I was going to make it happen. I've never had a single regret.

    Happy trails.

  4. Hello J.L!

Personally I'm in the same boat with you. I have always wanted a horse. However, I know our property is not suitable and boarding fees are outrageous. So, I venture down the road to visit the neighbor's horses.

    Perhaps one day...

    Take care!

  5. Hi Conda!

My deceased husband had a Harley. They are truly spectacular bikes, but they're a pain to keep running (at least his was). But I love the way they sound.

Groups are the best way to go as far as I'm concerned. He'll be running with that Man Group from work. Definitely with a helmet.

    Have a good one!

  6. Hey Swu!

It is really pretty, smooth, and he's gotten a lot of looks already.

Visualization techniques have brought many dreams to fruition for me. I think the key is being practical with your desires. I think we all internally know what we can handle. If a vision is not for you then it won't come to be. You and the Queen must be a perfect match!

  7. The bike looks terrific. I tried motorcycles years ago and thought it would be fun. Until we went to the store to try one and I wiped out on some gravel! I picked it up, brushed it off, and took it back.
I'm going to work on the visualizing. I know it does work, but I'm not as consistent as I should be.

No, you're supposed to get right back on...Or so they say.

I'm visualizing right now, and have been for the past week or so. I want some things to happen in my life.

I think everyone should try it. I'm glad you're getting back into it.

    See you soon!
